Il
4° Stormo dell'Aeronautica Militare ha ospitato nella propria sede di
Grosseto il 555th Fighter Squadron “Triple Nickel” della U.S. Air Force
in Europe (USAFE) per l'Emerald Strike 2023, un'esercitazione
di due settimane iniziata il 27 gennaio 2023.
L'esercitazione
è progettata per collaudare la capacità del Triple Nickel di
dispiegarsi rapidamente e integrarsi con le forze alleate fornendo al
contempo potenza aerea da combattimento in modo più efficace.
Gli
obiettivi del Triple Nickel si concentravano su operazioni aeree in
ambienti altamente contestati, pianificazione ed efficacia della
coalizione e consolidamento logistico.
Entrambe le operazioni aeree offensive e difensive sono state praticate
in scenari congiunti, aiutando lo sviluppo e la standardizzazione di
tattiche, tecniche e procedure al fine di espandere la capacità di
cooperare, scambiare o riutilizzare informazioni o servizi.
L'8 febbraio è stato organizzato uno Spotter Day per dare agli
appassionati la possibilità di vedere l'attività quotidiana e scattare
"qualche" foto.

The 4th Stormo of the Italian Air Force has hosted
the 555th Fighter Squadron “Triple Nickel” of the U.S. Air Force in Europe
(USAFE) at their home in Grosseto, for Emerald Strike 2023, a two-week
exercise which started on January 27, 2023.
The
exercise is designed to test the Triple Nickel’s ability to rapidly deploy and
integrate with Allied forces while delivering combat air power more
effectively.
The Triple
Nickel’s objectives focused on air operations in highly contested environments,
coalition planning and effectiveness and logistic consolidation,
Both offensive and defensive air
operations were practiced in joint scenarios, helping the development and
standardization of tactics, techniques and procedures in order to expand
the ability to cooperate, exchange or reuse information or services.
The 8th of February, a Spotter Day was arranged to give at the
enthusiast to see the daily activity and to take "some" pictures.
