Dal 17 al 28 Giugno, il 298° Squadron della Koninklijke
Luchtmacht ( Reale Forza Aerea Olandese ) si č rischierato con personale ed
elicotteri sull’ aeroporto di Rivolto (Ud), sede del 2° Stormo AM, per
effettuare un’attivitą addestrativa in ambiente montano.
L’attivitą rientra
nell’ambito degli accordi bilaterali di collaborazione Italia – Olanda,
stipulati in tema di difesa comune.
All’ esercitazione
hanno preso parte 3 elicotteri da trasporto CH-47D Chinook ed una cinquantina
di persone tra equipaggi e personale tecnico e di supporto.
Obbiettivo dell’
esercitazione, svoltasi nel’ambiente montano del nord-Est, era di testare la
capacitą degli equipaggi di volo nel fornire il supporto alle truppe di terra;
la scelta dell’ aerea addestrativa č stata determinata in base alle precedenti
esperienze ed la supporto logistico ed addestrativo ampiamente disponibile in zona.
In accordo agli
accordi ed alle regole nazionale, sono state adottate tutte le misure e
procedure necessarie per minimizzare gli eventuali disagi alle popolazioni
locali.
L’ esercitazione ha
anche offerto al 2° Stormo la possibilitą di addestrarsi a fornire il
necessario supporto logistico ad altri Reparti in ambito NATO e l’occasione per
effettuare una collaterale attivitą addestrativa per il personale operante sul
sistemo di difesa “SPADA”, nei confronti delle minacce costituite da velivoli
“slow movers” a bassa quota.
Un particolare
ringraziamento al personale militare italiano ed olandese per la disponibilitą

From June 17th to 28th, the 298th Squadron of Koninklijke Luchtmacht (Royal
Dutch Air Force) redeployed with personnel and helicopters to the Rivolto airport (Ud), site of the 2nd Wing AM,
to carry out an training activity in the mountain environment.
The activity is part of the bilateral agreements
of collaboration between Italy and the Netherlands, stipulated in the area of
common defense.
Three CH-47D Chinook transport
helicopters and fifty people including crews and technical and support staff
took part in the exercise.
The objective of the exercise, held in
the mountain environment of the North-East, was to test the ability of flight
crews in providing support to ground troops; the choice of training area was
determined based on previous experience and the logistic and training support
widely available in the zone.
In accordance with national agreements
and rules, all necessary measures and procedures have been adopted to minimize
any inconvenience to local populations.
The exercise also offered the
2nd Wing the opportunity to train itself to provide the necessary logistic
support at other NATO Units and the
opportunity to carry out a collateral training activity for the personnel
operating on the "SPADA" defense system, against to the threats constituted by aircraft "
slow movers ”at low altitude.
