51° Stormo, nell' ambito delle manifestazioni per celebrare il
Centenario dell' Aeronautica Militare, ha aperto le porte della sua
base di Istrana, per accogliere gli appassionati e gli spotter che si
interessano alla vita dei Reparti operativi. Il Comandante lo Stormo, Col. Pil. Emanuele Chiadroni ha accolto gli ospiti illustrando la storia del Reparto e le sue attivitą attuali e future. Gli ospiti hanno poi potuto visitare la mostra statica allestita per l'occasione con velivoli ancora in servizio e diversi dei velivoli, ormai storici, che hanno servito in passato. E' seguito un programma di volo con l'esibizione dei velivoli AM-X ed EF-2000 che costituiscono l'attuale linea di volo; l' AM-X č alle sue ultime uscite, in quanto ne č prevista la definita radiazione entro la fine dell'anno. Hanno anche sorvolato la base velivoli Tornado ed F-35 che, pur non appartenendo al 51°, hanno spesso operato dalla base trevigiana. Purtroppo l'inclemenza del tempo non ha dato la possibilitą di fare le foto che le esibizioni in volo avrebbero meritato. A conclusione della bellissima giornata, a tutti i partecipanti sono stati donati una stampa ed una spilla a ricordo della manifestazione. The 51st Wing, as part of the events to celebrate the Centenary of the
Air Force, opened the doors of its base in Istrana, to welcome
enthusiasts and spotters who are interested in the life of the
operational Units.
Commander of Stormo, Col. Pil. Emanuele Chiadroni welcomed the guests illustrating the history of the Unit and its current and future activities. Guests were then able to visit the static exhibition set up for the occasion with aircraft still in service and several of the now historic aircraft that served in the past. A flight program followed with the display of the AM-X and EF-2000 aircraft which make up the current flight line; the AM-X is in its latest releases, as it is expected to be decommissioned by the end of the year. A Tornado and an F-35 aircraft also flew over the airport which, although not belonging to the 51st, often operated from the Treviso base. Unfortunately, the inclement weather didn't give us the chance to take the photos that the flight performances deserved. At the end of the beautiful day, all the participants were given a print and a pin in memory of the event.
