Un secolo fa, precisamente il 7 Agosto 1910, di fronte ad una folla di
oltre trentamila persone, veniva inaugurata in localitą La Comina, a
nord di Pordenone, la prima Scuola d' Aviazione Civile d' Italia. In poco tempo, grazie anche alla presenza di importanti Pionieri dell' Aria, la Scuola ed il nome di Pordenone divennero famosi. Favorita da un sito che era gią un'aeroporto naturale, con un terreno pianeggiante, riparato dai venti dall'anfiteatro naturale delle Prelpi, la Scuola crebbe d'importanza e di dimensione; lo scoppio della I Guerra Mondiale pose fine alla sua attivitą. Durante la Guerra l'aeroporto, assieme a quello poco distante di Aviano, divenne sede di Reparti da Bombardamento equipaggiati di trimotori Caproni in varie versioni. La disfatta di Caporetto e la successiva ritirata verso il fiume Piave, portarono all'abbandono dell'aeroporto. Dopo la guerra, le Autoritą Militari preferirono dare sviluppo ad Aviano e La Comina fu abbandonato dalle attivitą di volo, anche se il sedime continuņ ad essere usato come area d'addestramento da parte dell' Esercito. Nel 1996 la nascita dell' Aeroclub di Pordenone ha riportato degli aerei lą dove tutto era partito. Per celebrare i 100 anni della prima Scuola d' Aviazione si sono tenute a Pordenone una serie di manifestazioni e mostre, col culmine nelle due giornate del 26 e 27 Giugno che hanno visto l'arrivo di molti velivoli storici volanti e l'omaggio coi fumi tricolori reso dalla Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale a questo luogo storico. |
A century ago, precisely August 7, 1910, in front of a crowd of over
thirty thousand people, was inaugurated at La Comina, north of
Pordenone, the first Civil Aviation School of Italy. In a short time, thanks to the presence of important Pioneers of 'Air the school and the name of Pordenone became famous. Blessed with a site that was already an airport natural, with flat terrain, sheltered from the winds from the natural amphitheater of Prelpi, the school grew in importance and size; the outbreak of World War I brought an end to his activities. During the war the airport, along with the nearby Aviano, became the seat of Bombers Units equipped with three-engine Caproni in various versions. Caporetto's defeat and subsequent retreat to the Piave River, led to the abandonment of the airport. After the war, Military Authorities preferred to give development to Aviano and La Comina was deserted by flight activity, even though the zone continued to be used as a training area by the Army. In 1996, the birth of the 'Flying Club of Pordenone reported aircraft where it all had started. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Aviation School were held in Pordenone a series of events and exhibitions, with the peak in two days on 26 and 27 June which saw the arrival of many historical aircraft flying and the homage with smoke tricolor made by the Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale in this historic place. |
